Motorcycle jacket/denim vest

Motorcycle jacket: Topshop 'Maddox' Faux Leather Jacket // Denim jacket: H&M (old) // Dress: Urban Outfitters (old) // Boots: H&M // Clutch: H&M // Ring: Aldo // Stud earrings: somewhere in Amsterdam (these look identical)

Today is a motorcycle jacket/denim vest kind of day! I thought this would be a fun day-to-night outfit because of the versatile art-print dress that I'm wearing. Don't you agree? So I'm attending a book launch party after work, and I plan to just trade flats for these cap-toe booties right after dinner and voilĂ ! Instant book-launch attendee look!

If you happen to be a comic book fan who speaks French and live in Quebec City, check Bulle out the next time you're browsing through a library. I got a sneak peak a while ago, it's good stuff!

Ear Cuffs and Other Chic Cartilage Bling

It happens every season, with at least one trend: I highly doubt it will catch on or that it's actually possible for normal people to wear it. But then, it makes its way into a few taste-makers' wardrobes and magazines' editorials or shopping suggestions. They have me interested. A few weeks later, I see it on street style blogs. It now seems wearable. And then, a celebrity rocks it, everyone wants it and so do I. I knooow, I'm so easy to influence!

Its the same story all over again with ear cuffs, earrings, and all types of ear accessories and jewelry, which is now moving away from the lobe. There were a lot of statement necklaces and arm parties last year and now the focus is shifting, which means ear cuffs will probably be all over the place pretty soon.

Let's go back to where it all began. Ok, maybe not all the way back, but in recent times: I think it all started at Chanel pre-fall 2012. That show was statement jewels galore. Looking at pictures of their Bollywood-chic collection, my first impression was that it looked beautiful, but very painful and way too dramatic for everyday life (heck, even nightlife! Single Earrings? Chains linked to body parts? Oh my!)

Boutiques then started selling single ear cuffs and chains as well as single earrings. The inevitable happened: it started to appear on street style blogs as well as on well-known bloggers like the Man Repeller. And BAM! There's Cara Delevigne looking painfully gorgeous and fierce with an ear cuff. Okay, now I might need one!

Now, thanks to you Cara, there's an ear cuff in a virtual shopping cart waiting for me to click the "check out" button. I think I'll wait and see if it goes on sale in three days though...

So, what do you think? Is this a trend you would wear?

Black and White Finds That Look Anything But Silent!

Making monochromatic outfits look fun is so easy! Paying some attention to details - like choosing fabrics with different textures, playing with contrasts or choosing cool prints and patterns - goes such a long way. These picks right here are my cheat-sheet for black and white dressing. I picked items with just a tiny bit of color to show you how "non-colors" makes them stand out, but also because I thought they were too cool to be left out of this collage. And making it was so much fun, I hope you like it!
