In the past, when snowplows didn't exist, people would have to stay wherever they were for at least one day whenever there was a snow storm or a big snowfall. Sometimes it happened while they were at school, the neighbor's or a family member's house. And while they were all gathered, spending quality time together and warming up by the chimney, they would keep each other entertained by singing folk songs or telling stories from their families and legends.
Times are a-changin'. Now, when the weather outside is frightful, there's dozens of snowplows in the streets as well as trucks that sprinkle salk to melt the ice, and everyone has winter tires on their car. But since I don't have to leave my house today, I'll pretend there's nothing I can do besides staying home until it stops snowing. And while I'm home alone, I might as well watch Home Alone, right?
Here are my favorite things to do on a snow day:
Wearing something warm and soft. Don't even try to convince, I will not wear pants! The best I can do on a snow day is upgrading from pajamas to this: sweatshirt, leggings, wool socks.
Watching Holiday movies (and eating advent calendar chocolate). I watch Home Alone, Edward Scissorhands, Elf, Christmas Vacation and the Grinch eeevery year! I don't think we ever get too old for these, just like I think advent calendars are for everyone. Especially if they're Lindt.
Pampering myself and trying new products. I ordered the four products on the left from Sephora on Black Friday and was given everything on the right! Left: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Pretty Boy, Boscia Blotting Linens, Murad Clarifying Wipes, Nars Blush in Orgasm.
